Purchasing a home
is one of the most significant choices you will ever make, but it also affects
your lifestyle over time. Before purchasing a home, one should confirm that it
conforms to the principles of Vastu Shastra. The theory of architecture known
as Vastu, which has its roots in ancient India, aspires to offer calm, wealth,
and optimism to its residents by balancing man-made spaces with the forces of
nature.
While modern design focuses on space use, aesthetics, and amenities, Vastu
emphasizes the invisible energy flow and elemental balance that have a subtle
but substantial impact on our lives.
Main Entrance
The main door entrance serves as the house's energy
doorway and is crucial in attracting good energy. Entrances that face east or
north are best since they let in the most natural light and are connected to
prosperity and advancement. It is also unlucky for a door to open outward instead
than within.
Natural
elements
Natural light, cross-ventilation and enough ventilation make a property
inherently Vastu-compliant. Health and happiness are promoted by plants in the
northeast and tulsi in the north or east.
Shape and plot of the building
The building's or
plot's slope and form are also important factors to consider. Because they
symbolize stability and equilibrium, square or rectangular plots are preferred
by Vastu. Plots with irregular shapes like triangular, L-shaped, or without corners
are thought to disrupt the flow of energy unless they are fixed with certain
Vastu treatments.
In a similar
vein, the land's natural slope should ideally go from west to east or south to
north, following the environment's natural water and energy flow.
Kitchen area
The optimal
location for the kitchen, which symbolizes the fire element, is southeast of
the house. It is said that this arrangement promotes nourishment and wellness
while preserving a healthy energy balance in the home. It can upset the balance
of the house if positioned incorrectly, especially in the northeast. To ensure
that the person cooking receives the morning light and energy while making
meals, the stove in the kitchen should be oriented so that the cook faces east.
Washroom area
Despite being necessary, bathrooms and toilets require specific Vastu consideration. Since the northeast corner of the house is regarded as the most holy and spiritual space, they shouldn't be put there. Rather, north-west or south-east orientations are thought to be appropriate for restrooms. In order to avoid stagnant energy, proper ventilation, water drainage, and cleaning are also crucial.
